If you do, it may mess up the reimport process.

Note: Link's model may be a bit massive, but do not rescale it. This is normal, and does not need to be fixed. When you do, it should look something like this Using your model program (I'll be using Blender 2.83 in the tutorial), import Link's main model, which should be named "cl.dae". The rest of the textures don't need to be touched, unless you are editing equipment. "mouthS3TC.x" where x is 1-9 is Link's mouths."mayuh.x" where x is 1-6 is Link's eyebrows."handsS3TC" is Link's hands (the hands separated from the model)."eyeh.x" where x is 1-7, is Link's eyes. Here's a quick rundown of all relevant textures: Switch bftex to whichever format you prefer. (I reccomend dds, if your image editor is compatible with it. After that, a window should pop up asking you what format you want to export the textures in. Choose the folder you want to save them in. To export Link's textures right click the "textures" folder in "link.bfres" and click "Export All". (Which is Link's hair from the his casual getup) Using the same process as Link, export "hands" (which is Link's hands, obviously enough) and "katsura". Now you have Link's Model!īefore you start editing it, however, you need to export two more models, and some textures! (Should be the default) A window should pop up asking about export settings, ignore it and click Ok. Choose where you want to save the file, and make sure you save it as DAE. That's much better! Now, right click "cl", and click "Export". To fix this, open the "model" folder in "Link.bfres" and hide all models but "cl". This is because all Link's equipment is located in the same file as him. Double click it it to expand, and you'll find the model! (You'll have to zoom out a bit to see it.) However, all of Link's equipment shows up with Link! This time, the only file we need is "Link.bfres". Double click the file to expand it, and you'll be met with another bunch of oddly named files. Don't worry though, Link's model is the one named "Link.szs".

Inside the folder are a lot oddly named files. Once you've got it, open up switch toolbox, and drag "permenant_3d.pack" onto it. I recommend you copy "permenant_3d.pack" to a different folder, so you don't accidentally mess up the original model. " Wind Waker HD rom"/content/Common/Pack/permenant_3d.pack For the sake of simplicity, this tutorial will only cover replacing Link, but other models follow a similar process.

The most important part of any model hack is knowing which model to replace.
